UPDATE – November 11, 2009

WEC 2009 is in Regina this year from January 21 – 25 at the Regina Inn & Conference Center and planning is well underway to make this years WEC a great success. We would like to give everyone a quick update on the team restrictions and deadlines.

The maximum number of teams per University are as follows:
[2] – Junior Team Design (1-2 Year Only) – 4 delegates per team
[1] – Senior Team Design (3+ Year Only) – 4 delegates per team
[1] – Consulting Engineering – 4 delegates per team
[2] – Innovative Design – 1-4 delegates per team
[2] – Engineering Communications – 1-2 delegates per team
[2] – Impromptu Debate – 2 delegates per team

Information on the six competitions are detailed on the Competitions page found here.

ADDITIONAL TEAMS – ‘U of Y’

If your engineering society would like to send additional teams or you are a student willing to pay your own way, you can apply to represent the ‘University of Yukon’. University of Yukon is a fictional engineering University added to the WEC for the past two years to allow students additional options to attend. The requirement for U of Y entrants is that no more than 50% of the delegates on a team may be from the same University. U of Y teams, should they win, will be fully recognized at the Canadian Engineering Competition (CEC). Team entries for U of Y will be allocated on a first come first serve basis.
